The biggest and best New Year's Eve parties in Bristol to see out 2019 in style

New Year’s Eve is always a massive night, with people eager to see the year out in style with their nearest and dearest.

Unless you and your friends are super organised, you'll no doubt be in search of a big night which will allow you to do just this.

Thankfully there are plenty of cracking options in Bristol, with virtually every venue pulling out all the stops to make sure the new decade goes off with a bang.

Below is the pick of the bunch, with an event to interest people of all budgets.

Area 404

Where: Albert Road, St Philips

The most exciting new venue to open in Bristol in 2019 is hosting a New Year's Eve party of epic proportions.

Area 404, based at Boomtown Festival's HQ in St Philips, launched in October and proved to be worth the wait - you can read our full review here.

Its NYE party will see the likes of David Rodigan, Chinese Man, Cut Capers and more enter the dystopian dreamscape to entertain the thousands of ravers.

Motion

Where: Avon Street, St Philips

New Year's Eve at Motion, one of the best clubs anywhere in the UK, will be graced by some big names behind the decks.

The thousands of ticket holders can expect to see the likes of S.P.Y, Darkzy and Upgrade on the night, with local legends My Nu Leng performing the midnight set.

Not only does the night mark the end of 2019, but also the end of the In:Motion series after 10 years, with an uncertain future surrounding the venue - although things are starting to look more positive.

Lakota

Where: Upper York Street, Stokes Croft

Another one of Bristol's best clubs has a stacked lineup to ensure the new decade is seen in with a bang.

Expert party starters including Palms Trax, Nightmares On Wax, Young Marco, DJ Boring and more will be spinning tracks covering a wide range of genres.

The party kicks off at 5pm in the beer garden before the action heads indoors at 10pm, with the aforementioned DJs and others serving up house, disco, techno and more.

Trinity Centre

Where: Trinity Road, Old Market

Tremor Soundsystem and Father Funk’s Church of Love will be transporting people back to the 90s for the freshest New Year's Eve party in town at Trinity Centre.

Some of the funkiest names in drum & bass, breakbeat, house and more have been booked to play the venue including Koan Sound, A. Skillz, Dossa & Locuzzed.

There will also be an outdoor arena with Octo Pi, WBBL and more set to brace the cold.

Steam

Where: Clifton Down Station, Clifton

If you're a fan of ABBA, there's only one place to be in Bristol on New Year's Eve: Steam.

The Clifton bar is dedicating its year-ending night to the Swedish icons, including a tribute set from tribute band The ABBAholics.

On top of the ABBA marathon there will be drinks deals, a photobooth and more, with a later licence ensuring the party goes on until the small hours.

Bambalan

Bambalan's new winter terrace (Bristol Live)

Where: Colston Street, city centre

Lovers of disco music in Bristol have plenty of options on New Year's Eve, including Bambalan in the city centre.

The Colston Street bar will be recreating New York City’s famous Studio 54 nightclub with a night of great music, delicious food and top notch cocktails.

There are two ticket types with the option of a four-course meal before the party starts, or a cheaper ticket which skips the feast.

Prince Street Social

Where: Prince Street, city centre

For those on a budget, Prince Street Social is a very solid option.

The bar is throwing a free party on New Year's Eve with two-for-one on cocktails all night, proving that the night needn't break the bank.
