Chelsea get their Premier League campaign underway on Sunday when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
There is already speculation as to who will be selected by Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to start the match, with players using pre-season to try and impress the managers.
It is likely that new Manchester United signing Harry Maguire, who joined for a world record £80m for a defender from Leicester City earlier in the week, but have the Red Devils provided another hint as to somebody else who could play a part in the game?
On Tuesday evening, United's U23 team played in the EFL Trophy against Rotherham, a game in which they won 2-0.
But it was a player not included in the squad for the match that got fans talking.
17-year-old striker Mason Greenwood has impressed during pre-season with the first team, scoring against Inter Milan and Leeds United. He has made four first team appearances, including coming on as a late substitute in the dramatic Champions win over Paris Saint-Germain in March.
There has been suggestions that Greenwood is seen as a ready made replacement for striker Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian be sold in the final days of the transfer window.
The youngster is a regular in the Red Devils' U23 squad, but his absence for the EFL Cup tie could be an indication that he may have a part to play with the first team squad against Chelsea.
