The Spaniard was a hugely popular player during his time at Anfield, having arrived in a £20m deal from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2007.

Torres formed a deadly partnership with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, and the duo spearheaded Rafa Benitez's attack as the Reds went close to a Premier League title in 2009.

An £50m exit to Chelsea in January 2011 left a sour taste and Torres struggled to repeat his heroics in a blue shirt, but the Spaniard has managed to build bridges with Reds fans in recent years.
