The 'big factor' keeping Newcastle United's season alive and the fans on board

The FA Cup tie at West Brom is one of the main things keeping the fans on board.

We're not used to it, we haven't had many cup runs under Mike Ashley. I think it's a big factor in keeping the season alive.

They are more than capable of getting through to the next round.

To me, the FA Cup masks over the league a little at the moment.

We're all looking forward to the next round, maybe getting through to the sixth round.

That's what we're looking forward to, and to me it's keeping the season alive.

It is vitally important we maintain it and get through to keep the Newcastle fans happy.

The fans keep paying money to keep to see mediocrity at times. We want to see a good cup run.

It was 30 years (Tuesday) since Manchester United came to St James' Park and the TV cameras were there. It was a real proper, old-fashioned FA Cup tie.

It was a real ding-dong game and I really enjoyed it, although it went against us in the end. I blocked Jim Leighton for one of our goals!

The fans were brilliant on the day, and it was not a bad little cup run. It got everyone's juices flowing, but sadly it came to an end on that day.

I think Brucey was playing! We gave it everything, and were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline.

It was a full-blooded cup tie which I enjoyed, with St James' Park rocking with the fans as well.
