The Big Eurovision Welcome: Who is performing and how to get tickets

The first set of artists performing at the Big Eurovision Welcome next month have been announced. The event takes place just a couple of days before the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.

Representing the host city Liverpool, some of the most successful groups that the region has ever produced will be taking to the stage, including the legendary Frankie Goes to Hollywood, girlband Atomic Kitten, indie-pop group The Lightning Seeds. and soul legends The Real Thing.

Previous Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst, who won the Contest for Austria in 2014, and 2016 Ukrainian winner Jamala are also among the line-up.

Billed as a “spectacular live show”, the 90-minute outdoor spectacle will welcome a crowd of nearly 30,000 people, at St George’s Hall in Liverpool, to kick off Eurovision week on Sunday, May 7.

Host AJ Odudu will be joined on presenting duties by comedian and presenter Joel Dommett.

There will also be cameos from other well-known faces: Shirley Ballas, Ricky Tomlinson, and Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne are among those set to appear throughout the evening.

Up to 30,000 free tickets have been made available to the public, the final wave of which went on sale this afternoon (April 25) at noon.

Tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

When is the Eurovision Big Welcome?

The Eurovision Big Welcome will take place on Sunday, May 7.

Don’t worry if you miss it because it will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on May 8.

Who is performing?

The event will play host to a collection of Liverpool’s legendary musical stars, as well as previous Eurovision winners.

Below is a list of all the artists confirmed to be performing so far:

  • Frankie Goes to Hollywood
  • Atomic Kitten
  • The Lightning Seeds
  • The Real Thing
  • Conchita Wurst
  • Jamala

How to get tickets

Tickets for the Big Eurovision Welcome event are now sold out.

The final wave of more than 9,000 tickets for The National Lottery’s Big Eurovision Welcome went on sale on Tuesday, April 25.

The last few thousand tickets to attend the show were offered for free (with a £2 service fee per ticket) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Those booking tickets were required to confirm they have a National Lottery ticket that they can present on the day of the event.
