The big Eddie Nketiah mistake Marcelo Bielsa is making again at Leeds

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is now back at the Emirates Stadium after spending the first half of the season on loan at Championship side Leeds United.

The 20-year-old moved on a temporary deal to Elland Road with the hope of getting some invaluable game time under Marcelo Bielsa as his team aimed for promotion to the Premier League.

However, things didn't work out how either Nketiah or Arsenal would have hoped, with the striker limited to mainly substitute appearances for Leeds, with Bielsa preferring to stick with Patrick Bamford in the striking position.

Nketiah made a total of 17 Championship appearances for the Whites, scoring three goals, before being recalled by Arsenal during the January transfer window.

The Whites instead turned to RB Leipzig striker Jean-Kevin Augustin who they have signed on loan until the end of the season, however, the 22-year-old came off the bench in the 2-0 loss to Championship rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The loss was Leeds' fourth in five games and leaves them in second place in the table on the same amount of points as third placed Fulham.

Speaking on TalkSport, former Premier League man Jamie O'Hara thinks that Bielsa's decision to keep his faith in Bamford is one of the reasons for the drop in form.

"It always seems to happen. Leeds are flying and then fall away every season. They should've bought big in January," he said.

"They got him [Augustin] on loan and he hasn't played him, he should've put him in the team.

"They should've gone big and signed someone to go right, he's going to get us in the Premier League, we're going to spend £20 million on him now because we know he's going to get us enough goals to get us promoted."

"They didn't do that and they've stuck with Bamford, and now it's killing them."

Leeds are next back in action when they face promotion rivals Brentford on Tuesday evening.
