The big decision Jurgen Klopp has to make about Sadio Mane for Liverpool's huge game with Spurs

If there's one player Liverpool need to keep fit and sharp at the moment it's Sadio Mane.

The frontman is fast turning into Liverpool's star player.

The Senegalese has been in sensational form for the Reds of late, scoring ten goals in his last eight Premier League games. And if you count his brace in the Champions League win over Bayern Munich, he has 12 goals in his last 10 games in all competitions.

He has eclipsed Mohamed Salah to become Liverpool's main man, joining the Egyptian on 17 Premier League goals for the campaign as a result of his recent run of form.

But will the 26-year-old be available to face Tottenham in a huge clash on Sunday?

For the first time this season Man played back-to-back games on international duty for his country.

Mane played the full 90 minutes as Senegal beat Madagascar 2-0 in African Cup of Nations qualifying on Saturday, before coming off the bench to score the only goal of the game as the Lions beat Mali 1-0 in a friendly on Tuesday.

The forward has now returned to Liverpool ahead of the game against Spurs on Sunday, but the 5,500-mile round trip and double gameweek will have taken its toll.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will have a big decision to make as to whether to give his star man a rest, or to hope that he is not too fatigued to play an important role against Spurs.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, will have similar decisions to make over Davinson Sanchez and Son Heung-min, both of whom had long journeys in the international break too.

Those two played each other in South Korea, while Sanchez also had a game in Japan.

Son's form has dipped of late, with the return of Harry Kane, while Sanchez is often battling for a place in the backline alongside Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, so neither can be seen as as important as Mane is to Liverpool right now.
