The big concern Thierry Henry has for Arsenal ahead of Freddie Ljungberg's first home game

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is concerned the Gunners rely too heavily on striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and is worried about how they would cope in his absence.

Aubameyang has arguably been Arsenal’s standout player since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2018.

The Gabon striker has 53 goals from 83 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, and finished as the Premier League’s joint-top scorer last season with 22 goals.

He is Arsenal’s top scorer again so far this season with 12 goals, including a double in interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg’s first game in charge as the Gunners drew 2-2 with Norwich.

Ljungberg on fixing Arsenal's defence

Ljungberg is set to take charge of his first home game this evening against Brighton, and speaking to Amazon Prime, Henry doesn’t see any immediate changes being made by his former team-mate.

"Well I think what we've seen so far, it's very difficult to change anything in, I think he had one session, or two maybe (ahead of the 2-2 draw with Norwich)," Henry said.

"It's virtually impossible to change anything. And what we saw is what I've seen before. Aubameyang scored two goals and we escaped.

"But that's what I saw, you know, without the goals of Aubameyang I don't know where we would have been right now.

"So it's interesting to see how we are going to play against Brighton, and see what Freddie is about. Because that game (against Norwich) was very difficult to see what was happening really."

The Gunners' search for a new manager continues following the sacking of Unai Emery last week.

Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira has now emerged as one of the frontrunners, amid reports in France that the Nice boss is seen by the club's board as their top target.
