The Big Breakfast is being filmed at Manchester Pride this Saturday - and here’s how you can take part

Saturday morning entertainment show The Big Breakfast is heading to Manchester Pride this weekend - and they’re looking for participants to take part and be seen on camera.

The Channel 4 show was revived as a four-part summer series following a successful one-off return last year. The show, which returned this month, is hosted by Mo Gilligan and AJ Odudu as they are joined by a number of famous faces.

While Mo and AJ take up residence at the Big Breakfast house in Hertfordshire, fellow co-presenters Harriet Rose and Melvin Odoom head out on the road each week to compete against each other and help locals win big prizes.

To coincide with Manchester Pride this weekend, Harriet and Melvin will be taking to Canal Street on Saturday morning (August 27) for interviews and games live on camera.

“I am so excited for The Big Breakfast to be a part of Pride while celebrating a huge part of my identity,” Kiss FM DJ and TV presenter Harriet said. “It’s so important to me and getting to do that with the Big Breakfast family is a dream come true.”

The pair will be based on Canal Street, between Chorlton Street and Sackville Street, from 9.30am until 12.30pm and people are being encouraged to join them and get involved. Show bosses have even teased there will be a special game featuring drag queens taking place.

Former Strictly star Melvin said the filming spot will also mark his first time at Manchester Pride. He told the M.E.N: “I am so excited to be bringing the Big Breakfast to Manchester and celebrating my first time at Pride. It’s going to be an iconic weekend.”

People can turn up to be part of the show. The Big Breakfast airs on Channel 4 and All4 from 10am-12.30pm.
