Waterproof mascaras are for break-ups, deaths and Augusts, when a combination of sweat and swimming pools can leave your face tracked with grey. If you haven’t yet found a favourite, this selection will sort you out. For me, Topshop’s Party-Proof Intense Mascara (£10, topshop.com) is the summer dream, despite the only parties I’ve attended in it ending at 5pm after a slice of cake. There’s no smudging, no flaking and no black circles. You’ll need a decent oily eye make-up remover. Or you could, of course, keep it on until October.
