The best places for a family staycation in the UK have been revealed - and the North East features.
Northumberland was ranked 10th out of more than 100 places looked at for the list.
It'll come as no surprise to people in the North East it features as it boasts an array of attractions for the family in and around its picturesque market towns and beautiful coastline.

The study was carried out by Shoe Zone and considered six different factors before ranking the locations based on which would be the best for a family.
The factors were:
* Average cost per night in August
* Number of family friendly activities
* Number of free activities
* Average temperature in August
* Average rainfall in August
* Number of cheap eats
London claimed top spot, while Bristol came second and the Peak District third.
Anthony Smith, chief executive at Shoe Zone comments on the findings: “With international travel remaining uncertain, summer 2021 is set to be the summer of the staycation.
“Whilst demand is particularly high for locations such as Cornwall and Devon, we wanted to conduct some research into other locations around the country which would be perfect for a family break.
“We hope our guide provides some useful inspiration for families that may not have planned a break yet and looking to book a last-minute getaway."
More than 100 staycation destinations were analysed by researchers. Figures were taken from Trivago which provided information on the average cost per night. Tripadvsior was used to identify family friendly attractions, free entry attractions and cheap eats.
Meanwhile data involving the average temperature and average rainfall were found using the World Weather Online.
