The best question on Twitter: What’s the best what-if in sports movies?

Have you seen names like Roy Hobbs and Gordon Bombay trending on Twitter Friday morning and wondered what’s up?

It turns out it’s thanks to former ESPN columnist and host Jemele Hill, now a staff writer for The Atlantic.

Hill posed a fantastic question on Twitter: What’s the greatest “what-if” in sports movie history? Her pick was if Apollo Creed of Rocky fame had lived?

That led to a heaping amount of sports movie takes, all of which are deeply fascinating. The one that popped into my mind was: What if Henry Rowengartner didn’t slip on that ball? (The answer, of course, is eventual Tommy John surgery.)
