Many people will opt to welcome in 2023 at home instead of an expensive night out. But whether you're marking the occasion with family or hosting a big party for friends, good food is a New Year's Eve must.
The Birmingham Mail reports that most of the big name supermarkets offer their own deals on party food and dine-in meals in the Christmas-to-New-Year break. The deals mean shoppers can save cash when stocking up for December 31.
Some are offering money off alcohol to toast the New Year while others have launched multi-buy discounts. Sainsbury's, Asda and Waitrose have already revealed offers especially for the occasion and more supermarket deals will be quick to follow.
Here are some of the latest offers available at UK supermarkets just New Year's Eve....
Sainsbury's
Sainsbury's is offering a £12 pizza meal as part of its New Year's Eve offering, which includes two pizzas, two sides and one dip. Pizzas include stuffed crust, meat feast and vegetarian options, plus sides such as mozzarella sticks, cheese and bacon potato skins, breaded chicken pops and dirty fries.
There's also money off Champagne, multi-buy beer options and reductions on party food including items from the Taste the Difference range. Shop New Year's Eve food deals on the Sainsbury's website.
Asda
Asda is offering a mix and match three-for-two offer on a range of party foods to celebrate the New Year. Mini pizzas, an antipasti platter and cheese stars.
There are also Asda Extra Special items included in the deal, such as quiche canapes, bao buns and samosas. You can view the latest Asda New Year's Eve food offerings on the Asda website.
Waitrose
To help its customers welcome in the New Year in style, Waitrose is hosting a four for three offer on party food. Shoppers can mix and match items from the deal and get the cheapest item free.
Items in the deal include a breaded cheese selection, salmon and beetroot tarts, tandoori chicken samosas and sticky beef teriyaki meatballs. Customers can also choose from festive vol au vents, vegan no pigs in blankets, king prawn crispy lollipops and a baking camembert with garlic doughball wreath.
