The Best New Movies To Stream On Netflix, Hulu, HBO And Disney+ This Weekend

As the month of May draws closer and closer, so does the mass array of new movies that will become available on our favorite streaming platforms. But let’s not forget: April isn’t over yet, and there are still plenty of new options heading our way. In this article, I’ll detail the best new movies available to stream this weekend.

Over the next three days, there will be ten new films to choose from four of the biggest streamers: Netflix NFLX , Hulu, HBO Max and Disney+. Here are the best options available on each platform. And at the end of the article, you’ll find a full list of all the new movies.

Mortal Kombat (HBO Max)

The biggest new release this weekend is the Mortal Kombat movie. The red band trailer (which you can watch above) signals just how bloody the movie will be—which is a turn-off for some, but a welcoming sign for others. The father of violent video games has lots of hype sounding it heading into this weekend.

Wild Mountain Thyme (Hulu)

As a 2020 release, Wild Mountain Thyme didn’t get a lot of publicity. But headed by an all-star cast that includes Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Christopher Walken and Jon Hamm, it seems that this romantic drama has plenty of promise.

Being the Queen (Disney+)

The British Royal Family has had lots and lots of press coverage lately—which makes Being the Queen a timely release on Disney+’s part. This documentary details the life of Queen Elizabeth II, utilizing never-before-heard interview recordings from her closest confidantes.

Tell Me When (Netflix)

Netflix doesn’t have a ton of new offerings this weekend. But perhaps its most promising new movie is Tell Me When, which centers on a workaholic who puts his life on hold to fulfill his dying grandfather’s final wish to visit Mexico City and find love.
