The annual display of futuristic fantasy/dystopian nightmare that is the CES fair in Las Vegas introduced us to the full gamut of smart home gadgets in 2019, from a mechanical laundry folder to a remote pet feeder.
Some of the latest gadgets are just one step on from items many of us currently employ on a daily basis, while others have more than a slight whiff of the Jetsons about them.
One thing's for sure — voice control is no longer an emerging trend, with almost any household task now able to be dictated to a smart gadget.
Thanks to the proliferation of virtual assistants, smart speakers and the connected home, we're no longer tap-tap-tapping on our computer keyboards, but chat-chat-chatting to our gadgets.
