Many people across the UK are likely to be desperate for some escapism while in self-isolation because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Thankfully, Netflix has some great options for you, from the theatrics of RuPaul's Drag Race to prestige dramas like Mad Men.

Even if you are a seasoned fan of the streaming platform, there are sure to be some gems you are yet to discover.

Here are some of the best series you can watch on Netflix right now, the Mirror reports.

The Stranger

Based on the novel by Harlan Coben, the thriller follows a mysterious woman who wreaks havoc in the life of family man Adam Price (Richard Armitage) by revealing some secrets from his wife's past.

Also check out the suspenseful series based on Harlan Coben's other novel, Safe, which stars Dexter star Michael C. Hall.

RuPaul's Drag Race

The latest series of the sassiest reality competition on television is here.

RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley and Ross Matthews sift through the latest line-up of drag queens as they undergo hilarious challenges and dramatic lip syncs.

Elite

The Spanish teen drama has returned for its third series, with another tragedy following the whodunnit over the murder of a youth.

The show uses a flashforward to provide a mystery, alongside steamy love scenes. If you haven't seen the Spanish hit before, you can binge all three seasons.

Peaky Blinders

The BBC gangster drama's first four series are available to stream now.

Set in Birmingham following World War One, we follow gangster and war veteran Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) as he attempts to expand the success of his family's criminal empire.

Love is Blind

Love is Blind is a dating show which attempts to focus on emotional connections alone, as singletons agree to marry without seeing each other.

Eventually, they will see each other, but will they stay together?

Cheer

This documentary series shows a tight-knit cheerleading squad at Navarro College aim to win another National Championship.

You will be surprised by how dramatic the world of cheerleading can be.

Mad Men

Mad Men follows advertising agencies in the 1960s and focuses primarily on the enigmatic Don Draper (Jon Hamm), a creative with a habit for chain-smoking and promiscuity.
