The best family-friendly places to eat with kids in Stokes Croft and Bristol city centre

Most parents know there are some important rules for eating out with kids.

Never, ever, venture into anywhere with tablecloths, or quiet cafes where everyone is reading.

Always look for big spaces where it's OK for your child to stretch their legs after they've finished with their dish.

And if possible, hunt out venues which actually cater for the younger crowds, both with their menu and their in-house entertainment.

But finding such havens can be tricky, especially when you're new to parenthood.

That's why we're rounded up the best places for you if you are in the the city centre.

We The Curious cafe

This gem is ideal for when you're out shopping and need somewhere to feed the kids.

Not only does it boast a play kitchen, there's also a chalk board and other toys all in a contained area around the tables.

The cafe serves up a range of kids packed lunches for around £5 and a good selection of cakes.

There's also a fun paddling pool for kids to splash around in on the warmer days.

There's also a good selection of outdoor games, from ping pong to table football.

This chain restaurant gives out balloons with meals and quirky straws that you can take home.

It also serves up some well-loved kids dishes including pizzas and pasta.
