'The best duo in world football' - Tottenham fans react to hard-fought victory against Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur moved two points off the top of the Premier League table tonight with a hard fought win against Burnley.

Jose Mourinho’s men were far from their best, but they ground out a 1-0 victory at Turf Moor to climb to fifth in the division.

It was the duo of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min once more who won the game for Spurs as Kane set his teammate up for the only goal of the game.

Kane headed on from a corner into the path of Son who diverted the ball past Nick Pope.

Here’s how the Tottenham fans reacted to the result on Twitter.

@GavLeeWilkinson: That’s what you call grinding out a win.

Didn’t deserve to win that to be honest but will take it, and it’s a good sign when you win and play badly, just as bad as it is when you lose and play well.

That’s a tough one out the way now, now on to the next one...

@midgey67: Should be top of the table. 2 stupid draws against Newcastle and West Ham at home have cost us a great start to the season. Instead it’s a good start. Hope we can keep it going with some more winnable matches coming up!

@Mallyspur: A hard watch. But 3 pts. And a clean sheet. Toby man of the match for me.

@wrappedupinboox: We are an utterly bogus penalty awarded to Newcastle from being top of the table.

@flicksandtricks: Scruffing a win and a clean sheet in those conditions and against that kind of opposition is as good as a 5-1er IMHO. Delighted.

@BigStuA84: I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than me once said that top teams have to know how to win ugly. Well that sure was ugly but 3 points is 3 points.

@omsmohammed: Reckon Jose will love that more (or at least as much) as a dominant 5 nil win

@bsmithnewton: Big win, immense at the back. Kane & Son the best duo in world football right now. Delighted.

@mrshullhopper: Not pretty but a win is a win.

@ReubsJ1: A hard fought win but sometimes you need to win dirty. I like the way we learned from previous experiences and killed off the game at the end. Two points off top spot onwards and upwards we go.
