The best Cyber Monday deals

The Christmas shopping frenzy moved online today, with retailers vying for a slice of the Cyber Monday action. Some retailers' websites appeared to be buckling under the strain, with shoppers being greeted with the message "our site is temporarily unavailable".

Here is our pick of the best Cyber Monday deals – share any you spot underneath.

• One of the tablet computers expected to be a bestseller this Christmas is £30 cheaper for Monday only. The Kindle Fire HDX seven-inch tablet is £169 on Amazon, down from £199. That is for the basic model which has 16GB storage and is Wi-Fi only. If you want 64GB, Wi-Fi and 4G the price jumps to £329.

• Video games store Game is hosting an hour-by-hour Cyber Monday sale, with deals popping up (and disappearing) all day. Grand Theft Auto V starts at 2pm, with the Just Dance 2014 slot at 3pm. But you're not guaranteed a great deal just because it's on sale – this morning's offer of Call of Duty Ghosts for the PS3 was £27.99 compared to the £28.90 we could find elsewhere, whereas the PC version was selling in Game at £29.99, but can be found cheaper elsewhere.

• Argos's "one day only" deals include an LG 42-inch HD television with built-in Freeview digital tuner, reduced from £369.99 to £309; and £20 off a Nikon Coolpix S2700 16MP digital compact camera, which is reduced to £49.99 from £69.99.

Gap is running a "40% off everything" with free delivery promotion until midnight. This offer is online only – to take advantage, enter the code SUPERDEAL at the checkout. The promotion excludes leather goods, 100% cashmere and gift cards.

• Topshop's online-only offers include 20% off knitwear until midnight. For example, a knitted fluffy crop jumper that was £34 is now £27.20, while a knitted marabou feather jumper that was £85 has been reduced to £68. It is also offering free worldwide delivery on all orders, again until midnight.
