It is around now that I usually buy my own Christmas gift, to myself. So naughty! But come on, you’ve done it before. This year I’ve decided on a make-up palette. I’m looking for something that will see me through pre-Christmas drinks, the main festivities with my in-laws in Wales, and shandies with friends on my return, too. It’s got to be slim, useful and sparkly, so I’ve gone for the Guerlain Petrouchka Eye & Blush Palette (£56, johnlewis.com) – a double-decker compact with five iridescent eyeshadows, four blushers/bronzers and a ballerina bow on the outside that doubles as a hair tie. It’s very nice.
