One of the best chip shops in the country is right here in Liverpool .
In an official round up of the best chip shops in each English county compiled by Big 7 Travel, Liverpool's own Byrnes made the cut.
The Walton based family-run chippy has been serving generations of Liverpool families since 1932, when founder Patrick Byrne first arrived in the city from Dublin.
Huge queues are a regular sight outside the shop filled with people keen to get their hands on the famous chips so it'll likely come as no surprise that Byrnes finished in the top 30 in the country.
The shop has also managed to gain plenty of five star reviews on Trip Advisor, with reviewers declaring it "top class" and "outstanding."
One reviewer said: "The best fish and chips around".
While another said: "Lives up to its reputation for delicious fish and chips!"
A further fan said: "Fish and chips is incredible, I ask for it lightly battered and it is perfect. I also love the gravy! No other chippy compares to be honest."
After experiencing huge success in the city, Byrnes opened its second chip shop in Liverpool on Muirhead Avenue East in April this year.
