The Queen's Corgis, Muick and Sandy, hit the headlines on Monday (September 19) after they were spotted at Windsor Castle, awaiting the funeral cortege.
The pair have recently passed into the care of Prince Andrew and his family and will now live alongside their four other dogs.
A close confidant of the Queen, her stylist Angela Kelly, revealed in her book The Other Side of the Coin, The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe that the duo had been a source of "constant joy" and a "godsend" to the late monarch during the lockdown enforced by the outbreak of Covid.
The puppies were gifted to her, in 2021, by her grandchildren, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as Her Majesty had stopped breeding the dogs in 2015.
The little dogs were said to have given the Queen a new lease of life during a difficult time when her husband Prince Philip was in the hospital.

She named the first Corgi pup, Muick - pronounced Mick - after Loch Muick, a beautiful and remote loch she was fond of on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland.
Her Majesty was often pictured walking and driving around the freshwater loch, which is found at the base of Lochnagar and is popular for its trout and salmon fishing.
It was also popular with her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria, who often spent time at her Glas-allt-Shiel lodge which is found on the banks of this wonderful loch.
A source close to the Royals at the time told the Sun: “The name choices are extremely poignant and dear to the Queen. Loch Muick is one of her favourite places on the Balmoral estate."
Sadly, the Queen was also given a Dachshund-Corgi cross called Fergus at the time, named after her uncle, a World War I hero, who passed away after heart complications just three months later, leading to her being given Corgi pup Sandy for her 95th birthday.
The Queen's love of Corgis began when she was just 18 after she was given her first, Susan, in 1944 by her parents for her birthday.
The recent puppies were the first she has had that have not been direct descendants of her very first corgi Susan.
In her lifetime, she had over 30 Corgis which would go on to accompany her throughout her life.
Muick is not the first to have a Scottish name, others were given names such as Whisky, Kelpie and Harris.
