The Bears have third best strength of victory through Week 6

The Chicago Bears have gained no respect with their impressive 5-1 start. Mostly because it’s been far from pretty, with the Bears being involved in a one-score game every week this season.

But one of the arguments against the Bears has been that they haven’t beaten any good teams. Which was a valid argument through the first four weeks, which included wins against the Detroit Lions, New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons, all teams that have losing records through six weeks.

Although that argument is hard to uphold with Chicago’s most recent wins against NFC South contenders the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers in back-to-back weeks. If anything those

The Bears actually have the third best strength of victory schedule through Week 6 at .458, which ranks only behind the Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints.

Funny enough their NFC North rivals, the Green Bay Packers, have been praised for their strong start. But they’ve also beaten some bad teams in the Lions, Falcons and Minnesota Vikings. Although their victories have been much more convincing than Chicago’s have been.

There’s not a lot of respect for the Bears through these first six weeks. But it doesn’t matter because they’re sitting pretty at 5-1 in first place in the NFC North and the second seed in the NFC.

But things will certainly get more challenging as they face the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans over the next three weeks.
