An unspeakable tragedy befell the Highland Park, Illinois, community on July 4th when a shooter opened fire on a parade in the Chicago suburb. Seven people lost their lives and dozens of others were left injured, while a town was left to try and recuperate in the immediate aftermath.
On Wednesday afternoon, with the Bears running through their first official training camp practice of the year, they attempted to lend a hand. As the festivities got underway, the team brought out a few special guests to the fields of Halas Hall in nearby Lake Forest — the Highland Park High School football team:

Wow. Now that is special. Look at all those faces with beaming smiles as they meet some of their favorite players like Justin Fields, Darnell Mooney, and Jaylon Johnson on their favorite NFL team. Just pure happiness. It doesn’t get any better than that.
The town is still grieving to be sure, but, for a moment, the Bears gave them some joy.
