‘The Beach Boys should sue’: Two weeks after Brian Wilson’s death Donald Trump posts video featuring grossly offensive ‘Barbara Ann’ parody

Donald Trump gives off the exact opposite of good vibrations. An incredibly insensitive video recently shared by the president has managed to offend the maximum number of people by not only making light of the war in Iran but also dragging the good name of The Beach Boys through the mud too.

Yesterday, Trump posted a video featuring clips of a B-2 Stealth Bomber flying and dropping bombs. The footage is accompanied by an infamous parody of the Beach Boys song “Barbara Ann.” The parody is called “Bomb Iran,” it was released in 1980, and is credited to Vince Vance & the Valiants. The lyrics of the song revolve around, you guessed it, bombing the middle eastern country.

This is low even for Trump

The president isn’t exactly known for being a classy guy (although he no doubt likes to think that he is) but this is just a whole new level of trashy. You’d expect a higher level of professionalism from the guy in the most powerful position in the country, but no. The inclusion of such an offensive parody of a Beach Boys song so soon after the band’s lead singer Brian Wilson passed away only adds salt to the wound.

The lyrics are truly sickening and it’s deeply concerning that anyone would share such a song online, let alone the literal president. Particularly bad lyrics from the song include “went to a mosque, gonna throw some rocks,” as well as the line, “time to turn Iran into a parking lot.” Even the most diehard Trump defender has to admit this is not the sort of stuff a president should be sharing.

Reactions from the internet

Online people were left speechless by the baffling video with TikToker, TizzyEnt, calling Trump “an international embarrassment.”

What an international embarrassment he is.

Responding to TizzyEnt’s reaction on TikTok, one person commented “The Beach Boys should sue Trump.” On X people joined in to call out the president and his childish actions, one person wrote, “Trump playing “Bomb Iran” like it’s a campaign jingle isn’t leadership, it’s a tantrum with a soundtrack.”

A minority did find it funny although it’s hard to see what’s so funny about the man sending missiles to Iran posting memes about it on his personal social media echo chamber. That’s not funny, it’s downright dystopian.

The saddest part is that this isn’t even all that surprising anymore. The bar is so low for Donald Trump that this is just expected of him now. Of course he posted an insensitive meme that makes light of the conflict in Iran to the sound of an offensive Beach Boys parody, he’s a 79-year-old manchild who lacks empathy and doesn’t know the first thing about being a good leader.
