The Batman: Willem Dafoe backs Robert Pattinson for role due to "strong chin"

There is one key component of being the caped crusader that many have forgotten about: the chin.

While appearing on Variety's The Big Ticket podcast, Willem Dafoe spoke up on the possibility of his The Lighthouse co-star Robert Pattinson taking on the role of The Batman in the upcoming film from director Matt Reeves.

"He’s got a strong chin," Dafoe described of Pattinson. "That’s a part of it. Can you imagine anyone with a weak chin ever playing Batman? I don’t think so."

Dafoe himself recently starred as Nuidis Vulko in fellow DC Comcis film Aquaman alongside Jason Momoa, but voiced uncertainty about whether he will return for the confirmed sequel film when speaking to IndieWire.

"I think they’re going to make another one," said Dafoe. "We will see about my involvement in that."

The acclaimed Oscar-nominated actor recently won huge praise alongside Pattinson for their turns in The Lighthouse which was the talk of Cannes Film Festival 2019 where it won the International Federation of Film Critics Award at Director's Fortnight.
