Production on “The Batman” has been suspended after an individual involved with the movie — reportedly star Robert Pattinson — tested positive for COVID-19.
A spokesperson for Warner Bros. said Thursday that the individual is currently isolating in accordance with established protocols.
Vanity Fair and other media outlets say the infected person is Pattinson, who stars as the Caped Crusader in the new film from director Matt Reeves.
The movie had resumed filming near London just a few days ago after an almost six-month hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic. “The Batman” was originally supposed to hit theaters in June 2021 but was pushed back to October because of the delays.
The shutdown follows another COVID-19 revelation from the movie world: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed Wednesday that he and his family tested positive for the coronavirus but have recovered. In a video on Instagram, he called the ordeal “one of the most challenging and difficult things we’ve ever had to endure.”
