The Bar in Beeston is being transformed into a family-friendly venue called the Flour Brewer

A Beeston bar is undergoing a "massive refurbishment" to transform it into a family-friendly venue in time for the summer.

The Bar, in Chilwell Road, closed in March and will re-open as the Flour Brewer, selling craft beer, premium lager, cocktails and rums.

Food will be available and live music is planned at the weekends.

It's a new venture for Jennie Martyn Eden, who runs GINious gin bar upstairs.

She said: "We are making it family-friendly and relaxed during the day with coffee, cake, newspapers and WiFi. There will be a brunch and evening menu and also Sunday lunch.

"The idea behind the name is it used to be a bakery so we wanted to keep some link to it. It will be be really glamorous but with an industrial twist."

An August opening is planned.
