The reality television star Sam Wood will be a bachelor no more – he announced his engagement to Snezana Markoski on Monday.
The fitness instructor picked Markoski as winner of the 2015 Australian season of The Bachelor. He posted a photo of their engagement ring on Instagram.
“She said YES! When you know, you know. I love you Snezana,” he wrote.
Wood and Markoski have been holidaying in Freycinet, Tasmania, with Markoski’s daughter Eve, staying at the luxury hotel Saffire.
September’s Bachelor finale climaxed with Wood confessing he was in love with Markoski. “I have fallen madly in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Snezana, I really do,” he said.
Filmed months before broadcast, the pair was forced to keep the relationship quiet, meeting in secret rendezvous organised by the show’s production company to keep the show result under wraps.
The finale was the most popular program on Australian television that evening, with 1.5 million viewers in the five capital cities.
Last year’s The Bachelor ended in controversy after Blake Garvey proposed to Sam Frost but dumped her after the show and began dating her second runner-up, Louise Pillidge. Frost then starred in her own spin-off show called The Bachelorette.
