Hold up, are we about to have a crossover of The Block and The Bachelor with former Bachie babe Bec Cvilikas joining a future season of the reno show? No, the answer is no. At least, not for certain.
As spied by Chattr, the rumour mill went into overdrive after the 2020 Bachelor star posted footage of her home reno with fiancé Kody Griggs. After a friend asked in the comments if she’s joining The Block, she responded: “Maybe?! Thanks chicky!”

Before long, Reddit was abuzz with talk of what a The Bachelor + The Block crossover would look like, and they didn’t seem to be impressed.
One fan accused the show of becoming too Americanised in the way it chases drama, writing: “That’s starting to sound like all the American versions of these shows. Fill the contestants with reality TV people and that’s what they spend all their time banging on about. This is all for drama. Check out the different versions of The Traitors if you don’t know what I mean.”
Another pointed out that the dating show crossover door had already been opened as last year’s season of The Block featured a cameo from MAFS groom Dave Hand. Former Love Island Australia stars Josh and Luke Packham also ditched their Speedos and picked up the tools as contestants on the show in 2021.
To put the rumours to bed, we reached out to Bec herself and she confirmed that although she would love to join The Block, it’s currently just wishful thinking and not a done deal.
“They are, in fact, just rumours,” she told PEDESTRIAN.TV. “However, The Block is the one show I’d actually probably do. As we all know, dating shows are now forever off the cards.”

The obvious reason being that she is now engaged and working on a renovation project with her soon-to-be hubby.
“My fiancé and I had such a great time building our home, there was obviously stressful moments and a lot of mayhem in between but it made us closer, and we learnt a lot!” she told P.TV.
“Knowing what I know, I’d absolutely do it all again — audience or not!”
As for the blow-back she’s copped from those Redditors, Bec said: “I find it quite funny how upset people get when shows cast ex reality contestants, honestly I think people just love to hate but deep down they know they’d be entertaining — they’ve done TV for a reason once before.”
Bec went on to reveal that her manager once asked her to sign up for MasterChef Australia but it was a hard no from her.
“My manager asked me about MasterChef once, but I am so far from a talented cook, I had to turn that one down. I’d be fighting for my life on that one,” she said.
Speaking of reality TV crossovers, the new season of The Traitors Australia is dropping v. soon, featuring a bunch of public figures including reality stars from different shows. So like it or not, reality star crossovers are coming!
