The awkward Clintons Christmas card fail that's had the internet in hysterics

During the run-up to Christmas, we've already seen countless blunders from many of our favourite retailers.

From empty Cadbury advent calendars to typos on Primark decorations, we really have been treated to some absolute corkers when it comes to product fails.

But Clintons may have just won the crown for failure of the year, after one shopper pointed out a hilarious mistake with a card he tells Manchester Evening News he found in the Sutton store.

Posting on the social media platform, Twitter user Joe J shared a photo of a card which read 'Merry Christmas to my wonderful brother and boyfriend.'

Captioning the post, and pointing out what could be deemed as a seriously 'inappropriate' error, he wrote: "I feel like they should definitely have the word ‘his’ before boyfriend."

Unsurprisingly, the tweet quickly went viral, and has since been shared over 5,000 times, and liked almost 50,000 times (accurate at time of writing).

Clearly entertained by the card, one Twitter user wrote: "Don't be so judgemental. If there's a market..."

"A niche market: the Lannisters," said a Game of Thrones fan.

"Keeping Christmas in the family," joked somebody else.

A fourth jested: "What in sweet Jesus were they thinking?!"

Manchester Evening News has contacted Clintons for comment.
