The awful scenes as Dan Biggar lay motionless after sickening head blow that could now threaten his Rugby World Cup

Dan Biggar's participation in the remainder of the Rugby World Cup could be in doubt after a sickening collision with team-mate Liam Williams in the second-half of their Pool D clash with Fiji in Oita.

The Northampton Saints outside-half lay motionless on the turf after taking an horrific blow to the head in a horrible collision with Saracens star Williams in the 56th minute.

It sparked immediate concern from team-mates who were quick to comfort him.

After some treatment from the medical team, Biggar was able to stand jog off the pitch to be replaced by Rhys Patchell to a rousing ovation from the Welsh fans.

But it's the second head injury Biggar has suffered in the tournament, having gone off in the decisive Pool D win over Australia.

Biggar is now bound to be a major concern for the knockout stages.

It would be a massive blow for Wales having already seen Gareth Anscombe fail to make the flight to the Far East over a serious knee injury.

It would leave Wales down to just one fit No.10 in Patchell among Warren Gatland's squad.
