The award-winning lunch spot near Leeds with a stunning view

During the pandemic and the restrictions it poses, it has never been more important to find easy-to-reach beauty spots near Leeds.

And when you remember that Yorkshire is God’s Own County and homes a number of awards and achievements, it shouldn't be very hard.

One such place is an award-winning lunch spot which is free to visit and is only 20 miles away from Leeds at the Cow and Calf Rocks, in Ilkley.

Surprised? Probably not.

The moors are stunning and you can expect idyllic views.

It is no wonder 10,000 people nominated the spot as the country's favourite al fresco dining spots.

The bench can be found at Ilkley Moor (Tafadzwa Kagadora)

If you fancy hiking or climbing, you will love it.

A couple visiting the site in Feb 2020 said on TripAdvisor: “This has got to be undoubtedly one of the jewels in the Crown of God's Own Country.

"I am very fortunate to live just a mile away from the Majestic Cow and Calf Rocks and wake up in the morning and sit in my upstairs conservatory and marvel at the view.

"The moor is a lovely place to visit in all seasons be it a beautiful sunny blue sky Spring or Summer's day and even in Autumn and Winter, it makes for a lovely day for a walk.

“You can sit in awe of the stunning views over Skipton, The Dales and of course beautiful Ilkley.”
