The audacious transfer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should target for Manchester United this summer

After a disappointing season, United are expected to undergo a mini squad overhaul this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stamps his authority.

The Norwegian will already know the players who can help transform United’s fortunes next season, as the club attempts to catapult itself back to the top of the Premier League.

Jadon Sancho, Gareth Bale and Kalidou Koulibaly are some of Europe’s biggest names that have been consistently linked to United, however there’s one name that Solskjaer should be pursuing more than any other.

That player is a two times Premier League winner, a World Cup winner, and a European Championship finalist. He’s a serial winner and his name is N'Golo Kante.

The glaring lights at Old Trafford may not promise the guaranteed trophy laden success they once did, however the Red Devils still boast a unique prestige and in the past when United have come calling there aren't many that have refused, although whether Chelsea would do business is another matter.

Eric Bailly stance on Manchester United future revealed

Kante’s unbelievable and freakish habit of covering almost every blade of grass on the pitch and nullifying any Premier League attack mean the pint-sized enforcer has become the best in the world at what he does.

He won the 2016/17 PFA Player of the Year award, after winning the Premier League for the second time and while becoming a national icon in France, playing in every game on their way to World Cup glory, he’s arguably not been seen to his greatest effect in a club capacity recently.

That's because Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea’s manager, has insisted on playing Kante in a more advanced position to the holding role he’s used to.

Although Kante has a combined eight goals/assists this season, one more combined than Mesut Ozil and Dele Alli, he is no doubt better suited to the holding position he is famous for.

Manchester United might have found a surprise transfer target

Solskjaer could deliver assurances he would play in his favoured position, and the Frenchman could revolutionise United’s midfield while also providing excellent cover and protection to the defence.

Another pull factor that could potentially persuade the world’s best holding midfielder to come to Manchester would be the opportunity to play alongside fellow countryman Paul Pogba.

The pair were untouchable at the World Cup and formed a formidable partnership and the possibility of them linking up in Red is a mouth-watering thought for United fans.

Make no mistake, Kante’s signature wouldn’t be easy to capture nor would the transfer be cheap but if United want to rebuild, Kante could be the solution to more than just one problem.

It's highly unlikely but would be a sensational transfer if United could pull it off.
