The Athletic’s grades for former UGA players in NFL Draft

Recently, college football insider Dane Brugler of The Athletic announced where he thinks some of college football’s biggest stars will be taken in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft. Needless to say, there was no shortage of former Georgia Bulldogs throughout the list.

The only first-round pick out of UGA that Brugler predicted was lock-down cornerback Deandre Baker, who is seen by many as one of the top cornerback prospects in this draft class.

Linebacker D’Andre Walker and receiver Riley Ridley were both projected to go in the second round, while Mecole Hardman and Lamont Gaillard were both expected to be third-fourth round picks.

Brugler projects former Dawgs Isaac Nauta, Jonathan Ledbetter, Elijah Holyfield and Terry Godwin to all be taken throughout the later rounds of the draft.

While mock drafts may not always be extremely reliable, the fact that writers like Brugler have as many as five Dawgs taken in the first four rounds of the draft is certainly a good sign.
