The Athletic predicts Titans sign Leonard Floyd, K.J. Wright

The Tennessee Titans will certainly add a pass rusher in free agency this offseason, and there’s also a chance the team will look to sign an inside linebacker to replace Jayon Brown, who is a free-agent-to-be.

The Titans’ need to add an inside linebacker will depend upon how confident the team is in David Long, who stands to be an in-house option to replace Brown should he move on.

The Athletic’s Sheil Kapadia recently made predictions for where some of the biggest names in free agency will land, and he has the Titans signing both edge rusher Leonard Floyd and linebacker K.J. Wright.

Floyd hasn’t been talked about as much as other free-agent edge rushers in Titans circles, but he’d be a solid addition for Tennessee. The 28-year-old is coming off his best season as a pro with a career-high 10.5 sacks.

While he might not be the same player he once was, Wright, who is good in coverage and against the run, would be a solid replacement for Brown and should come cheaper. The 31-year-old also brings the versatility of being able to play both inside and out.

As for a few of the Titans’ biggest free agents, Kapadia has wide receiver Corey Davis signing with the Indianapolis Colts (yuck), tight end Jonnu Smith inking a deal with the New England Patriots, and edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney moving on to play for the Los Angeles Rams.

We’ll see how things shake out with the legal tampering period set to begin on Monday, March 15, and the official start of free agency kicking off on Wednesday, March 17.
