The Athletic names a dark horse to make the Vikings roster

Minnesota rookies have had to try and make the team amid the coronavirus pandemic. The virus has made it so that those players have less opportunities to impress the coaching staff than before.

There are no preseason games now. Various offseason programs were postponed, made remote or canceled, in addition to gyms and facilities being closed for long periods of time.

Despite that, rookies are avoiding the obstacles in their way in order to try and make the Vikings. Chad Graff of The Athletic reported that a rookie could be a dark horse to make the team: offensive lineman Kyle Hinton.

Here’s what Graff said about Hinton:

“Among the third-stringers, Hinton looks the most comfortable taking on NFL-level defenders. He likely won’t make the initial cut, but he’s certainly a practice-squad candidate and could surprise prognosticators.”

Hinton played for Washburn in college, a Division II school in Kansas. If he pans out for the Vikings, he could be a platoon lineman for 2020.
