The astronomical sum Man Utd and Wales star Daniel James is now worth after Swansea City transfer

Wales and Manchester United star Daniel James is now worth more than £60m, according to the CIES Football Observatory.

The winger joined the Red Devils from Swansea City for an initial fee of £15m - a sum that could rise to £18m with add-ons - last summer.

He has impressed in the early stages of his career at Old Trafford and was a key figure for Ryan Giggs as Wales qualified for Euro 2020 last year.

And such has been his rapid rise in 2019, James is now valued at £60.57m.

The CIES Football Observatory's algorithm takes a range of factors into account when coming up with a player's estimated transfer fee, with age and the economic level of the releasing club among the items taken into consideration.

They have calculated that Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe is the player from Europe's big five leagues with the biggest transfer value (£225.4m).

The Frenchman is closely followed by Man City and England man Raheem Sterling who is valued at £190.1m while Liverpool's Mohamed Salah is ranked third with an estimated price tag of £148.8m.

James has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side so far this term, scoring three goals.

The 22-year-old has netted on two occasions in his 10 appearances for Wales, including the winner on his competitive debut against Slovakia at Cardiff City Stadium.
