The astonishing price tag on Crystal Palace flop Alexander Sorloth as Real Madrid eye transfer

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in making a move for Alexander Sorloth.

Yes, you read that right, the Crystal Palace flop, who failed to score a Premier League goal for the Eagles, is attracting interest from Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old Norwegian is currently on loan in Turkey with Trabzonspor, and his goals have helped the club to second place in the Turkish Super Lig, only off the top of the table by one point, albeit having played one fewer game than leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.

Sorloth, who flopped at Selhurst Park, managing one Carabao Cup strike 20 appearances for Roy Hodgson's side, has set Turkey alight with his goalscoring form.

Soriano: UEFA allegations against Man City simply not true

He has 21 goals in 30 appearances for the Turkish outfit - the top scorer in the division

Reports suggested that Palace enquired about taking the frontman back during the January transfer window, but were unable to do so.

Sorloth left Selhurst Park in the summer to embark on a two-year loan spell with Trabzonspor, and the Turkish side can make the move permanent at any point between now and the end of the loan deal.

That's according to Trabzonspor boss Ahmet Agaoglu, who is quoted by Turkish-Football.com as saying: "I have until 31 May next year to use our buy option for €6million."

That works out at £5million at the current rate of exchange, but would pale into comparison with the figures Trabzonspor are looking for to sell the Norwegian.

Real Madrid are among a number of clubs to have sent scouts to watch him in action this season, with Trabzonspor pricing him up at an astonishing €50million (£41.8million) if they are to sell, after buying of course.

Agaoglu added: "I saw five-six scouts watch Alexander Sorloth at the Besiktas game. It is true, clubs are interested and watching him but we loaned him for two seasons from Crystal Palace."
