The Arsene Wenger warning which Barcelona failed to heed as Liverpool produce stunning win

Arsene Wenger appeared to make a perfect prediction a week before Liverpool's comeback against Barcelona.

Jurgen Klopp's side beat the La Liga champions 4-0 at Anfield, overturning the 3-0 deficit from the first leg, to reach the Champions League final for the second consecutive season.

Two goals each from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum sealed a stunning victory for the Reds, and they will play either Ajax or Tottenham Hotspur in the final on 25 May.

And former Arsenal manager Wenger, had suggested that Liverpool would have a huge advantage by having the second leg at home.

Speaking as a pundit on beIN Sports prior to the first leg at the Nou Camp, Wenger said: "Liverpool is strong where Barcelona is weak, for me. Because if you don't score goals against Barcelona you're guilty. But Barcelona can score as well. That's what we have to see tonight.

Liverpool fans will love what former Arsenal and Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas tweeted

"Liverpool has another asset that comes out, because let's not forget that Liverpool did not win the Championship for 30 years, but in Europe they do well. Why? Anfield.

"A home game. This is the most heated stadium in Europe. In the return game, it's the only place you don't want to go is to Anfield. Because the atmosphere and everything is special there.

"So I am keen to see what they do tonight."

Barca did go on to win the first leg 3-0 thanks to brilliance from Lionel Messi, but the Spanish club had no answer to Liverpool's display of resilience, hunger and attacking prowess in front of their home fans - just as Arsene Wenger had warned.
