It took a little while to finalise but David Luiz is officially an Arsenal player.
The 32-year-old has signed a two-year deal in north London after the Gunners agreed an £8million fee with Chelsea.
As well as confirming the transfer on their social media channels, Arsenal also confirmed that Luiz would wear the number 23 shirt at the Emirates Stadium.
The Brazilian international is exactly the sort of player who Unai Emery wanted to sign and it's expected that he'll play a key part for the Gunners this term.
He joins Gabriel Martinelli, William Saliba, Dani Ceballos, Nicolas Pepe and Kieran Tierney as the new faces at the north London outfit since the end of last season.
This deal also marks a reunion between the Gunners head coach and Luiz.
The pair were together briefly at Paris Saint-Germain prior to the defender returning to Stamford Bridge for a second spell in the summer of 2017.
Although Luiz's previous comments about Emery does make for interesting reading.
"Unai came (to Arsenal) to try to build a new philosophy and to try to gain the trust of the players, from the fans, from the club. I think he has been doing an amazing job," Luiz said of Emery.
"I had the opportunity to work with Unai for a few months. He’s a great guy, a great coach, a great person.
"He’s passionate. He loves his work. He likes to build teams who are spirited, play with passion and you can see that.
"He has had the opportunity to work with a lot of young players and I think they have understood his philosophy."
