The Arsenal player who scared Jurgen Klopp makes Liverpool Champions League final declaration

Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos is backing his former manager Jurgen Klopp to bring Champions League glory to Liverpool next week.

Sokratis was signed by Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and worked under him for two years before the German departed in the summer of 2015.

The Greek international gained a fearsome reputation with Klopp once stating: "You’re never quite sure if he’s about to kill you.”

And now Sokratis has addressed those comments while expressing his backing for his ex-boss when Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid next Saturday.

"I took what Jurgen said as a compliment, of course," he said to the Mirror.

"I had a good relationship with him, having played for him at Dortmund.
