The Arsenal player who has saved Unai Emery so far and it’s not Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal have not had a happy start to the season.

A 2-0 loss to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday meant that there is now a gap of eight points between the Gunners and fourth placed Manchester City.

second half goals from Jamie Vardy (his ninth in nine games against Arsenal) and James Maddison gave the Foxes a deserved win, and left Arsenal fans calling on the board at the Emirates Stadium to make a crucial decision over the international break.

Manager Unai Emery is under increasing pressure, with fans not happy with both results and performances, especially after the optimism that came with six new arrivals during the summer.

Although around the annoyance of Arsenal fans, there has been some bright sparks to the season. Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored eight goals in 12 Premier League games this season with every single one of them goals proving to be crucial in picking up points.

Midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has also impressed in just his second season in English football, but there is one other player who is proving himself to be a crucial part of Unai Emery's team.

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno is top of the charts for the number of saves made in the Premier League so far this season. The German stopper has made 49 saves, five more than next best, Brighton's Mat Ryan.

Arsenal have struggled defensively this season, and while they may not be happy with their position, without Leno is could have turned out to be a whole lot worse.
