The Arsenal player described as 'lazy' in Southampton draw by former Man City man Joleon Lescott

Arsenal needed a last-gasp goal to rescue a point at home to Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners looked to be heading for defeat at the Emirates, with struggling Southampton having a whopping 21 shots against them, scoring twice through Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse.

Arsenal had to come from behind twice, both times through Alexandre Lacazette, with the second equaliser coming in the 96th minute.

Prior to Saturday's contest, the Saints had only picked up one point in their previous seven Premier League games and looked to be in real trouble.

But they could and perhaps should have taken away all three in north London, against an Arsenal side who are really struggling under Unai Emery too.

The second Southampton goal came as a result of a penalty, with Ward-Prowse seeing his effort brilliantly saved by Bernd Leno, before the Saints skipper fired home the rebound.

And Joleon Lescott, in the SKy Sports studio for Soccer Saturday, was less than impressed with the defending of Arsenal, and in particular summer signing Kieran Tierney.

He said: "It's lazy defending from Tierney, he gets played in there and instead of tracking the run and guiding him away from goal, he's just pulled him back and Ings has gone over and rightly so."
