Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes believes that Anthony Martial has the ability to turn into the Red Devils' version of Thierry Henry.
Martial made a strong start to the 2019/20 Premier League campaign on Sunday as he netted from close range in the club's comfortable 4-0 win over Chelsea.
It was the perfect start to the season for United, who looked dominant on the break at Old Trafford as they put Chelsea to the sword.
Martial started the match as the central striker but switched with Marcus Rashford on occasions and played from the left side, much like the floating around act Henry used to adopt during his days at Arsenal.
Scholes has since drawn the comparison lines between the two players and explains that the former France star is the perfect player for Martial to try and emulate.
“If they sit in and defend like (Harry) Maguire can do, (Aaron) Wan-Bissaka great defender and just keep those two, Martial and Rashford towards the left-hand side most of the time and get the ball to those two I think they can hurt anybody," Scholes told Optus Sports.
“I don’t think it’s a bad thing that Martial keeps coming out to the left-hand side. Remember Thierry Henry, he started games at centre-forward, always ended up on the left side somehow. So I don’t think it’s a bad thing, if he (Martial) can be anything like Henry we’d take that now!”
