Here are your evening Arsenal headlines for March 24th:
Rumoured targets
Arsenal have endured a difficult season so far with Unai Emery axed in December and replaced by Mikel Arteta, which sparked a revival in form at the start of 2020.
However, prior to the coronavirus outbreak that brought a halt to football across Europe, the Gunners crashed out of the Europa League at the hands of Olympiacos.
That, accompanied by the fact they are off the pace in the hunt for Champions League football, shows there is still work to be done and Arteta will be active in the market.
A lot of players have been touted with a move to the Emirates Stadium and we have the list of the most likely transfers.
Unai Emery fees
Unai Emery's tenure as Arsenal head coach came to an end in November 2019.
18 months after succeeding Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, the Spanish tactician was given his marching orders following a poor run of results which had seen the Gunners win just once in eight games across all competitions.
Having signed a three-year deal upon his appointment, Emery still had over a year left on his Arsenal contract prior to his sacking.
Although, as reported by the Times, the Gunners inserted a break clause which meant they could dismiss him after two seasons at the helm without paying up the full value of his contract.
Of course, Emery didn't achieve two full seasons in north London.
As a result, he is still being paid by Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke.
Leaked kit images
With the current Premier League season suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak, there's no live football for Arsenal fans to enjoy.
As a result, many are looking ahead to the resumption of the competition - currently scheduled for April 30th - as well as events in the summer such as the transfer window.
But there will also be new adidas kits released ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
Here's the latest on next season's drop.
Squad value
Arsenal have seen their squad value increase £92.03million in the space of 14 months following big money moves for Nicolas Pepe and Kieran Tierney.
The departure of Alex Iwobi to Everton in the summer for £27million would have dropped the squad value for the Gunners, but the moves for Pepe and Tierney, which accumulated to almost £100million would have seen it rise a mass amount.
William Saliba was also bought for £27million but he was loaned straight back to Saint Etienne for the season meaning he’s not included in the current squad’s value.
However, when Saliba arrives at the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season and any potential signings, Mikel Arteta’s squad value will once again rise and we could see it easily rise above £700million.
