'The Arsenal are back!' - Arsenal fans go crazy as Gunners close in on Dani Ceballos transfer

Arsenal are on the verge of strengthening their midfield options with the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

The 24-year-old Spaniard, who started his senior career with Real Betis, is very close to sealing a return to the Emirates Stadium after a successful loan spell last season.

Ceballos made 37 appearances for the Gunners last season and played a key role in the club's FA Cup triumph.

Now, with him not figuring in Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane's plans in Spain, the central-midfielder is on the brink of sealing a return to the Emirates Stadium, once again on loan.

Arsenal's next move after Gabriel

Should Arsenal get the deal over the line without any late snags or hitches, Ceballos will become Mikel Arteta's second signing of the week, after Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes completed his switch to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, joining the Gunners for £25million.

After landing Gabriel, who will significantly strengthen the Gunners' central-defensive options, Arteta has now switched his attentions to adding to the centre of midfield. Arsenal have been linked with an array of central-midfield options this summer, including the likes of Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey, Philippe Coutinho of Barcelona and Lyon ace Houssem Aouar.

Whether the Gunners will still pursue a deal for any of those three remains to be seen, but Ceballos is poised to be the next arrival at the Emirates Stadium.

And with that in mind, Arsenal's fans have been having their say on the midfielder's impending return to the Emirates Stadium, with them delighted that the 24-year-old is on the cusp of sealing a switch back to the Premier League.

Here is a close look at how Arsenal's supporters have reacted to the news on Twitter...
