Celtic are set to pay Augsburg around £2.2m from Arne Engels’ proposed £22m move to West Ham, according to a new report.

The 22-year-old Belgium international is set to undergo a medical examination in London on Friday before officially joining the English Championship side.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg now reports Engels' former club Augsburg will receive 10 per cent of the selling fee, worth around £2.2million, negotiated as part of the original deal that brought the Belgian to Glasgow.

Engels joined Celtic from Augsburg in August 2024, becoming the Scottish champions’ record signing at the time.
