That's 1,000 more compared with the end of November, according to hyperlocal data from Public Health Wales.
According to the data on Friday afternoon, December 18, the areas with the highest rates of the virus are currently Glyncorrwg and Blaengwynfi (2,133 per 100,000), Cimla (1,214) and Glynneath (1,026).
At the end of November, Glyncorrwg and Blaengwynfi had the lowest rate of cases in the county, with 196 cases per 100,000 between November 22 and 28.
