The Apprentice viewers beg to take cruise on Titanic after 'disastrous' first challenge

Apprentice viewers wished they were on the Titanic after a disastrous first challenge on the BBC One show.

Fans of the show tuned into the programme on Thursday night to see the men and the women take on a cruise challenge, where they had to create a brand and ad campaign for a new cruise line.

The girls - led by Kathryn Louise Burn - decided on the idea of an adults-only cruise for friends, whilst the boys were led by Akshay Thakrar, and they chose a health and wellbeing concept.

The boys settled for Seaquinity for their ship name and the brand name Never-Ending Nautical, but it was their logo that came under fire - which people liked to a rotten banana or a turd.

Akeem, Ashkay, Harry were the final three in the boardroom (BBC)

It didn't get much better for the candidates as they tried to explain their logo decision and they faced tough questioning from the industry experts, which made difficult viewing for things at home.

"I’d rather take my chances on the titanic rather than go on any of these cruises #TheApprentice," one wrote on Twitter.

Another added: "I’d comfortably say the Titanic was more successful than the men's and women's advertising campaign #TheApprentice," as a third shared: "I think I'd rather get on the Titanic . #Apprentice."

Lord Sugar gave his verdict during tonight's show (BBC)

A fourth wrote: "That pitch of Never Ending Nautical sank faster than the Titanic . #TheApprentice."

Even Lord Sugar joked about the Titanic as the candidates rowed over who was the failure behind the task, as he added: "This is like the band playing on The Titanic."

Lord Sugar decided to pick the girls over the boys for the win, as he praised their "overall synergy" and called the boys' campaign "very disjointed".

The boys' logo was heavily criticised (BBC)

Following their stint in the Cabana Cafe, Lord Sugar added: "They say the worst things happen at sea, but they didn't realise it was going to be this bad. The bad news its that there's not enough room for all of you in the lifeboats."

Harry was the first to exit the BBC One show tonight, after Lord Sugar decided to get rid of him for being "disruptive".
